With players being called up to the 1s and others unavailable the side that took the field against Clwb Rygbi Caerdydd was much changed from the original selection. CRC are renowned for being a side that plays fast expansive rugby and they showed this in the opening quarter, good passing and angles of running and pace, along with poor tackling from Llanishen got them three tries, with two converted they opened up a nineteen point lead. At this point it looked like they would run up a big score, but Llanishen are made of sterner stuff these days, and playing a tighter game they started to apply pressure with both forwards and backs make stong, direct runs. Eventually the pressure told, the ball was moved from side to side and flanker Mike Willams drew the last defender to send wing Jack Gregory over for a try which Lewis Marshall converted to reduce the deficit to twelve point at half time, Early in the second half CRC's lead was reduced even further when Steff Boyd got the visitors second try. Both teams has periods of possession without really looking like scoring, until the last minute when Marshalll thought he had touched the ball down, the referee adjudged it was knocked on. Final score CRC 2s 19 Llanishen 2s 12
